Arcade Games : Unwinnable
This is a fundamentally a grab-bag category that contains a vast range of games and game mechanics. The common elements, however, includes a fundamentally abstract style and game play that tends to broken down into short well defined levels.
The levels become increasingly tough and difficult, with a formula that controls the increasing levels of difficulty. It is not unusual for these games to be ultimately “unwinnable” as there is no last level.
For this reason, Arcade games are typically associated with a high - score table. Some examples are Space invaders, Tempest, Defender, Pacman and centipede.
